Joining the list of politicians venturing into films production in Kollywood is J Anbhazhagan. The former T Nagar MLA and DMK North Chennai district secretary will produce 'Kannabiraan', to be directed by Ameer.

‘Jayam’ Ravi would be playing the lead role. The movie, which would have a top heroine opposite Ravi, is expected to go on floors in the middle of March.

Meanwhile, buzz is that Ameer is planning to make ‘Kannabiraan’ a bilingual (in Tamil and Telugu). It is also said that the Telugu version would have veteran producer D Ramanaidu's grandson and son of D Suresh Babu, Rana playing the hero.

Rana is making his debut with 'Leader', a film directed by Sekhar Kammula of 'Happy Days' fame. Interestingly, the movie is produced by AVM, one of the prestigious production houses of Tamil cinema. Sekhar Kammula is directing the film after a gap of two years.
